Blooms after Brexit

Well Brexit has happened. We still really don’t know how it’s going to affect our daily lives and our place in the world in the long run, but I am glad that one change I didn’t have to consider was any effect on flowery imports.

While there are some sundry items and a few special-request flowers that I still source from outside the UK, I am really pleased to have offered air-mile free flowers and foliage since the beginning of 2019. I’ve been lucky to find some fabulous British flower suppliers, from local growers who grow more, or different varieties, than I do, to specialist nurseries and wholesalers gathering the best produce form their region, it’s been great to know that I can source flowers that represent our seasons year round.

Thus for Valentine’s Day, I had a great selection of beautiful flowers to work with, helping to #makevalentinesgreen with an alternative to red roses flown in from hotter climes. It as also great to team up with Usma from Zizi’s Treatz to offer her delicious locally-baked cakes alongside my bouquets.
